MCA Annual Meeting, Sat. Feb. 6, 2010. We have an excellent program before the actual business meeting. The speaker is Bob Hilke .The subject is the incomparable and heretofore untold story of the amazing journey by Ernest Oberholtzer and Billy Magee from The Pas, Manitoba, to Nueltin Lake and the northern reaches of Hudson Bay, south on Hudson Bay to the Hayes River, up the Hayes finally to Lake Winnipeg and south on the Lake to Grimli. One journey, one season, 1912.

Stern Paddler Alert We want to thank any and all experienced canoeists who volunteered to paddle stern with a canoe full of young people with the UWCA (That stands for Urban Wilderness Canoe Adventures) program in summer '09. This wonderful program is organized by Wilderness Inquiry, an organization dedicated to getting people outdoors. It may run again in 2010. The goal is to get 10,000 youth out on the Mississippi River in the summer. They need stern paddlers for large canoes. They have the need, you have the expertise.
